The situation is mainly created by the prevailing congestion in Chittagong sea port which change many shipments from seafreight to airfreight to meet the delivery deadlines.
This peak has resulted in 3~4 days back log in Dhaka Airport. There is no place to unload the cargo in the Airport.. Maximum forwarders have unloaded their cargo out side the Airport and there is no protections to avoid any damages and pilferages.. Due to that there is a long Truck queue in front of the Airport gate and the trucks are need to wait more than 2-3 days in the queue outside the cargo terminal to be unloaded.
