Port congestion in Nhava Sheva (Mumbai)
Please be advised that all the 3 terminals at JNPT are facing a severe congestion
Please be advised that all the 3 terminals at JNPT are facing a severe congestion due to the following reasons:

  • The current yard inventory has exceeded the yard capacity at the terminals.
  • The yard inventory is causing delay in the shifting of export boxes from common rail heads.
  • Shortage of pilots leading to delay in berthing and un berthing of vessel.
  • Various other operational constraints forcing vessels to cut and sail.

The port congestion is causing severe delays and many vessel are either not accepting export loads or skipping Nhava Sheva without accepting any export loads. This situation is expected to deteriorate further in the monsoon season and the months to follow.
